MMMMM----- Meal-Master Recipe Title: Sourdough Biscuits 3 Categories: Sourdough Yield: 14 NFXS18B MMMMM----------------------------- DAY ONE ------------------------------- 1/2 c Sourdough starter 1 c Milk 1 1/2 c White flour MMMMM----------------------------- DAY TWO ------------------------------- 1 tb Honey 1 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Baking soda 3/4 ts Salt 1 c Whole wheat flour Bacon drippins* *Bacon drippings, heated with equal amount of safflower or corn oil or butter. DAY ONE: Combine starter, milk and 1 c white flour. Blend well, cover with towel and let rise at room temp overnight. The next day, stir in honey. Combine remaining white flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir into starter mixture and beat well. Mound whole-wheat flour on board, turn dough out onto board and knead in flour. Adding additional white flour as needed to prevent sticking, knead lightly to form a soft dough. Roll dough out to 1/2in thick and cut into 2-1/2 in rounds. Dip each round into bacon dripping mixture and arrange close together in a 9in square baking pan. Cover with towel and let rise in warm place 30 mins. Bake in oven 375 for 35 mins. Serve hot.
