MMMMM----- Meal-Master Recipe Title: Rene's Extra Sour Sourdough Starter Categories: Sourdough Yield: 1 1 1/2 c Flour 1 c Warm milk (110 deg.) 1/2 c Sugar 1 c Plain yogurt; room temp 1 pk Regular yeast MMMMM------------------------------ FEED --------------------------------- 1/2 c Flour 3 ts Sugar 1/2 c Milk 2 tb Yoghurt (opt) From : Rene Collins Mix all ingredients very well in a plastic bowl(I find a 3lb. margarine tub works great!). Let sit at room temp for 4 hours. There should be tons of bubbles in it. Stir down and let sit another 2 hours at room temp. Cover and refrigerate. To feed: Every 5 or 6 days, add flour, sugar, milk and yogurt. Double the amount fed if you are using more than 2 cups at a time. After feeding, let sit at room temp (stirring occasionally) until it bubbles up again, but keep refrigerated the rest of the time. This makes a really sour recipe, but it is great if you love sourdough!
