MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Alaskan Sourdough Biscuits Categories: Sourdough Yield: 4 Servings 1 1/2 c White flour 1/2 ts Salt 2 ts Baking powder 1/4 c Butter or margarine 1/4 ts Baking soda 1/4 c Cold water or milk ts If starter is quite sour 1 c Alaskan Sourdough Starter Sift dry ingredients together. Blend in butter as for pie crust. Stir water or milk into starter and mix with dry ingredients. Turn dough out onto lightly floured board and knead quickly until smooth. Roll dough out about 1/2 inch thick. Cut with floured cutter. Place on well greased pan. Brush with melted butter. Let rise for 1 hour in warm place. Bake in oven preheated to 425 for about 20 minutes. Serve hot. This recipe will make 15 or 16 biscuits with a 2 inch cutter. These biscuits are perfect for storing in the freezer. If they are intended for this purpose just brown lightly. They may also be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator in the baking pans covered with transparent wrap for several hours before baking.
