MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Lemon Poppy Seed Bread Categories: Quickbreads Yield: 1 Servings 1 Lemon 1 c Flour 3/4 c Sugar 1/3 c Poppy seeds 1 1/2 ts Baking powder 1 Egg 2/3 c Milk 1/3 c Vegetable oil 1/2 ts Vanilla Grate lemon rind and squeeze out the juice. Set aside. Combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, poppy seeds and baking powder. In a separate bowl, combine egg, milk, oil, vanilla and half the lemon rind. Add to dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Pour into greased and floured 9x5" loaf pan. Bake at 350 F. for 50 minutes. While baking, combine lemon juice and remaining rind with 1/4 cup sugar. stir to dissolve sugar. Pour over hot loaf before removing from pan to cool.
