We moved in to our new home between Sept 21 and 29.  The closing went fine and we have received the funds from the sale and paid off the mortgage on this home too.

We are slowly getting settled and more organized.  Have to have a water softener put in next week because the water is so hard here we are getting skin irritation and it will damage our appliances.

Jim is almost finished building a 10X10 shed to store all our extra stuff.

We worked hard and had an offer for a free evaluation so we accepted it

MAY 22, 2005

We worked hard and had an offer for a free evaluation so we accepted it. The agent was here last night and we decided it just was going to be too much hassle trying to sell this place ourselves. So it is listed with Royal lepage/State Realty. Sign will go up Tuesday.

We spent the weekend at the new place because our agent is having an open house on Sunday. We arrived home on Sunday and there were 9 couples that viewed the house and an agent came through with someone on Saturday.

JUNE 22, 2005

We are still at the house. It is listed and showing well. We are receiving our first offer today.

We were offered $214,000 and we countered with $237,500. They have until midnight.

Our agent called and they wanted to come back with an offer of $220,000 but their agent refused to offer as it was still too low so they have withdrawn their offer.

Nearly finished decorating and put it up for sale.

June 19 2005. A lot has been happening in the past few months. We bought another chihuahua in November and named her Angel. Jim installed the new kitchen we had built and it's beautiful Jim tore out all the closets and built 3 new ones. We had problems with our new gas range and it finally was taken back and we added another thousand to get a dual fuel gas top electric twin oven unit and it works super. We've had a sun room added and Jim's been working on finishing it and we have carpet ordered to put down. We have a hot tub almost ready to be delivered that is going in the sun room. We traded in both our cars on one. A Saturn Vue and we have to get a tow package added to it. We have a new doctor and dentist. We love living out here.

NOVEMBER 1, 2006

We have the RV in the drive loading it up in readyness to leave for South Texas.

We are leaving November 13th, 2006.

We will not be accessible by phone while we are away and our phone will be turned off at our permanent residence.

We have both had to have root canals.  Mine was completed today.

Our mail will be forwarded to the temporary address.

If anyone needs to contact us we can be contacted at Eastgate Mobile Home Park by leaving a message.  We will have a car phone but don't know yet if there will be a phone hookup available.

We have basically finished packing the RV up.  Just last bits and pieces.  Such as stuff in the frig.  Jim is going to hitch up the car today with the RV backed in when we are finally finished; ready to just pull out tomorrow morning.  We should reach Gary, Indiana and stop for the night tomorrow.

We are returning 2 weeks early so that Tracey and Binny can come to visit us after Binny's daughter's wedding in Florida.

We will not have internet access until after the 16th as soon as Jim sets up the satellite.

We arrived at 1:30 at Eastgate park in Harlingen TX. Took us 5 days and the first 3 days were horrendous.   Registered and paid for our stay.  I asked out of curiosity if there were any units available for sale.  But didn't get an answer right away.  Jim was told later there was a unit for sale for 65.  I said 6500 or 65000.  Jim said if it's 6500 I'd buy it right now.

Well, it was.  $6500 US.  Large trailer with an addition.  Queen size bed.  Tub in the bathroom, compact kitchen, large frig and pantry, large dining area.  Completely furnished.  We bought two comfortable chairs as the couch is a futon that isn't comfortable to sit on for long.

We have telephone: .  We have internet.  We have tv.

We are hoping to sell this next year and upgrade with the funds from selling the RV which we will do when we return home in April.

Pictures to follow.

Winter 2006/07

The trip down to Harlingen was horrendous.  So bad we started smoking again.  We will be leaving earlier next year.  We had a lovely time and Helen only had medical problems twice.  Minor ones.

We left on March 25th for home and had a safe and pleasant journey home.  Stayed at truck stops all the way home.

Crossed the border into Canada at 9:15 on March 29th.

Helen was ill the next day and the whole time Tracey and Binny visited.  Dr said it was a virus and it has taken 2 months to finally get over it.

It has thrown Helen's sleep pattern right out of wack and we are missing our morning water exercise because she isn't waking up in time for it at 9 am.  Otherwise, Helen is well and over the virus.

We have put in the vegetable garden and some flowers and hope our roses survive this winter.
